About The Columbus Movie Guy

Email: neil@filmschoolrejects.com
Neil Miller is the 23 year old Publisher, Editor and Senior Film Critic for Film School Rejects.com. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he has since migrated to the fine city of Columbus to fulfill his needs of seeing both a pro hockey team and a winning football team (something that Cleveland is destined to always lack.) Both his love of film and his love of being argumentative began at a young age – so much so that his 7th grade English teacher encouraged him to become a lawyer based on his ability to write a persuasive essay. Later in life, he would discover the amount of schooling necessary in becoming a lawyer, and he chose a career in the retail field and a dream of becoming a film critic instead. In early 2006, along with his friend and fellow movie lover Brian Gibson, he started Film School Rejects.com, a site dedicated to being a forum for aspiring critics to get their opinions read by the world.
He also writes for Blog Critics.org and encourages fans and non-fans to always lay the feedback on thick, as he is always learning and growing as a critic. As well, he is a charter member of the Central Ohio Film Critics Association (COFCA.org), a featured critic for Criticker.com, and an all around nice guy.
About the Columbus Movie Guy
The Columbus Movie Guy is a site born of a very fluid blogging concept. In 2004, Neil started blogging on a site then called “The Modern Guy” that would eventually gain significant popularity, mostly for its crude humor and propensity for showing off slightly nude female flesh. Unfortunately, after two years of blogging and countless warnings from the hosting company, The Modern Guy was shut down - only to be revived in a much more family friendly way, as The Columbus Movie Guy. It now serves as the personal portfolio for Neil Miller (see above), Editor and personal lobbyist for Film School Rejects. Here you will find his views on the world of Film, American Culture, life in the big city and other randomness - but mostly it is a place for him to display his work as a film critic so that someday maybe someone from Maxim magazine will get rid of that quote whoring Pete Hammond guy - and hire him instead.
